FIRE INSURANCE (Simple Risks)
Fire insurance affords protection against loss or damage by fire. Any building, machinery and contents
of business premises are subject to fire hazards. Our Fire Insurance Policy gives protection for the
property damage (such as Building, machinery, Furniture & Fixtures and other contents) against loss or
due to fire and allied perils. There are some optional covers which can be covered on payment of
additional premium.
BASIC COVER
Fire Insurance Policy covers loss or damage to the property insured due to
Fire
Lightning
Explosion/Implosion (Excluding damage to boilers (other than domestic) where steam is generated)
Aircraft Damage
Riot, Strike, Malicious Damage
Storm, Cyclone, Typhoon, Hurricane, Tornado, Flood and inundation
Impact Damage: by any rail/road vehicle or animal
Subsidence and Landslide including Rock slide
Bursting and/or overflowing of Water Tanks, Apparatus and Pipes
Missile Testing operations
Leakage from Automatic Sprinkler Installations
Bush Fire
ADD ON COVERS
Fire Policy can be extended to include the following Add-on covers by paying extra premium:
Architects, Surveyors and Consulting Engineer’s Fee (in excess of 3%)
Removal of debris (in excess of 1 %)
Forest Fire
Impact damage due to Insured’s own rail/road vehicles, fork lifts etc
Spontaneous Combustion
Omission to Insure additions, alterations or extensions
Earthquake (Fire & shock)
Spoilage material damage cover 
Leakage and Contamination cover
Temporary removal of stocks
Loss of rent clause
Insurance of additional expenses of rent for alternative accommodation
Startup expenses
Terrorism
EXCLUSIONS:
1.Insured should bear 5% of claim amount subject to a minimum of Rs.10,000/- for every loss arising
   out of Act of God Perils and Rs.10,000/-on each and every claim (except Dwellings)
2.War and allied losses, Ionization, radiation losses
3.Loss to bullion, precious stones, work of art etc exceeding Rs.10000/- unless specified
4.Damage to electrical machine, apparatus due to over running, excessive pressure, short circuiting, self
   heating, leakage of electricity from any cause (including lightning)

GENERAL CONDITIONS
Some of the important conditions are
1.The policy shall be voidable in the event of mis-representation, mis-description or non-disclosure of
   material particular.
2.Cessation of insurance after 7 days from the date of fall or displacement of building or part thereof
3.If the building becomes unoccupied and remains so for a period of more than 30 days
